Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected from 25 January to 25 September 1948 in various locations within Hawai'i, Canada, Europe, and the continental United States. Collector numbers 29473-30146 are included. Occasionally, notes become long and narrative, and will sometimes include general descriptions of area vegetation. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, and sometimes physical description of the specimen that includes its measurements, color, and other information. Notes from 3-25 September 1948 are inserted at the end of the notebook. Localities include but are not limited to various areas of O'ahu, Molokai, Newfoundland, Holland, France, England, North Carolina, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Kansas, Wyoming, Missouri, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland. Six labels entitled plants of the Hawaiian Islands O'ahu are inserted between pages 62 and 63.
