Abstract

Heinrich provides details of travel to Texas and Maryland. From October 1918 to January 1919 he inspects crops of southern Texas for damage, especially caused by pink bollworm (pbw) and white worm. This section of the notebook is arranged by date, and includes crop type, field location, plant condition, type of insect infestation if applicable. Weather is sometimes included, as well as additional details like size of field, name of owner, and history of plantings. He revisits sites around Houston, Texas, including Anahuac and Double Bayou. Journal includes details of a three day trip to Pocomoke, Maryland in August of 1920.
