Abstract

This notebook is the diary that relates to the field notes in Box 1 Folder 5 of this collection. This diary is a narrative account of the travels and field work conducted in Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming in July to September of 1923 and August to September of 1924. Resser's daily accounts describe his itinerary and notes locations in which fossils were found and collected. Localities include but are not limited to Secret Canyon, Adams Hill, New York Canyon in Nevada, Provo Canyon in Utah, and the Gallatin Canyon in Montana and Wyoming. Also included are occasional notes of other professional and personal engagements such as a lecture about the Smithsonian Resser gave, his meeting with Blackwelder, and attending a Mormon service.
