Abstract

An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected from 21 March to 3 June 1947 in various locations within the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador. Collector numbers 27168 – 27658 are included. Occasionally, notes become long and narrative, and will sometimes include general descriptions of area vegetation. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, and sometimes physical description of the specimen that includes its measurements, color, and other information. Some Miscellaneous notes inserted at the beginning of the book. Labels entitled “plants of Costa Rica” from the 1947 Cinchona Expedition are attached to page 93. Labels entitled “Plants of Peru” from the same expedition are inserted between pages 118 and 119.
