Includes hand drawn maps of sites observed, geological sections, some barometric readings, notes about photographs taken, and a chronological list of expenses. Some notes have been crossed out. Includes loose, hand drawn map of vicinity of Galena, Illinois. Locations include the vicinity of Calmar, Iowa; Bridgeport, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; Galena, Illinois; Bruno, Seward, Nebraska.
