The notebook includes lists of expenses listed by date and trip. Includes sketches and geological sections. Often locations are described as a distance between two towns. A little over half of the notebook is blank. Locations include the vicinity of Ottumwa, Albia, Unionville, Columbus Junction, Fruitland, Fairfield, Rome, Iowa; Joy, Gladstone, Illinois.
