Abstract

Materials document Alexander Wetmore's continued investigations into the nature and origin of duck mortality in Utah (1916), while in the employ of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Bureau of Biological Survey. Materials include correspondence, birdlists, membership lists (Duckville Gun Club, New State, North Shore), and receipts. Correspondents include employees of the USDA, Fish and Game Department of Utah; and companies about supplies. Topics covered include: travel expenses; memo warning against activity in politics by officers and employees of the USDA; memos about postal law changes; tagging ducks; collecting specimens for the Fish and Game Department of Utah and the USDA; and release of information to the professional press.
