Abstract

The field notes and diary document Bohumil Shimek's work in Indiana, November 1904. Entries started approximately half-way through the notebook. They describe observations of trip from St. Louis [Saint Louis], Missouri to New Harmony, Iowa. Entries are headed with date; time of day; description of terrain seen during travel by rail; sketches of terrain; description of color, appearance and composition of terrain; and fossils (shells). Notes from time in St. Louis relate interactions with colleagues and contact information.
