Abstract

The list of botanical specimens was created by Bohumil Shimek while collecting in Winneshiek county, Iowa, 1903. Pages are numbered. Information is scattered through out the notebook. It contains notes about and lists of plants seen while traveling. Lists of plants (including quantities)are organized by whether commonly seen on the prairie and plants seen between Jackson Junction and Calwar. Entries include descriptions of woods near Hesper, listing vegetation seen, geological sections and other plant lists (though locations are sometimes illegible).
