Abstract

Field notes document Bohumil Shimek's work in Iowa, 1899. Pages are numbered. Entries are headed with location, and sometimes dates and time of day. Information includes descriptions of locations of groves of trees, including type, size, and surrounding terrain. Sites are numbered. In the back is a list of trees native to Woodbury county. Includes 27 maps with notes. Most are hand drawn on graph paper. Locations include the counties of Plymouth, Woodbury, Monona, Crawford, Carroll, and Dickinson.
