Abstract

This book contains a catalog of ornithological specimens received into Mearns's collection from other collectors. The catalog uses the following data columns: original number, catalogue number, and specimen (usually including name and sex). Collectors include Wm. L. Bresse, Dr. F. Gente, Jas, H. Roome, E. J. Maynard, Frederic S. Osborn, Thos. W. Wilson, Wm. K Gente, Eugene P. Bickwell, N. C. Brown, Lieutenant Willis Wittich, Alfred Benzon, R. P. Nicholls, William Brewester, Franklin Benner, Louis A. Derega, A. K. Fisher, and perhaps others. Many of the collectors collected in New York. Collections from R. P. Nicholls are from England.
