Shells, Alabama and Tennessee, notes on trees, 1891
The field book documents Bohumil Shimek's work on shells collected in Alabama and Tennessee in 1891 and trees observed. Dates on the cover indicate some entries are from 1893. Entries begin from back and front of notebook. Includes descriptions of characteristics and appearance of trees by part (bark, buds, branches). These are organized by tree observed, listed by common name. Shell information is listed initially with location (town and state) and date range, then additional information on shells is listed per location. Details include type, weight, condition, and unidentified information.
Many of SIA's holdings are located off-site, and advance notice is recommended to consult a collection. Please email the SIA Reference Team at email@example.com.
