Abstract

Miscellaneous specimen lists and notes on birds dated in and around the 1870s. The first list of birds records 124 species and 782 examples, providing quantities and sex of each bird in New York. Research notes and correspondence are also included. Another list records bird eggs collected in the 1870s with collector or personal numbers ranging from approximately 1483-1667 not listed in order. A third list records information on a collection of eagles numbered 101-822 collected in Colorado, New Jersey, Connecticut and (Long Island) New York. A fourth list includes collections made by others including N. C. Brown and W. K. Gente made in various states. A fifth list records birds by species including the following information: private number, sex, when collected, where collected, measurements, and remarks.
