Abstract

This is includes lists, notes, and correspondence documenting William Louis Abbott's work in Kashmir, Aldabra, and Trong, 1891-1893. Includes lists of mammals collected with number, type, sex, location, and accession number. Correspondence includes letter about specimen being transported to the National Museum followed by a list detailing type, if complete specimen or part, location collected, date, size, stomach contents, appearance (including color),and sometimes the contents of the fauna consumed. for Dolphins. Includes an itinerary for Santo Domingo and Haiti trip (1916 and 1920); outline tracings of flying squirrels collected (some with measurements; Description of Aldabra and Gloriosa Island including weather, terrain, fauna, and coastal waters; list of lepus collected in Stugar Valley, Baltistan; correspondence accompanying specimens from Kashmir. Locations include Trong, Seychelles, Indian Ocean.
