Abstract

Though title indicates subject matter relates to birds, this item actually describes field trips to cerion (a genus of snail) colonies in the Florida Keys over the course of several years that were typed, compiled, and organized by colony, then chronologically within. The field notes document cerion collecting, and also the statistics for births and deaths of cerion in the colonies each year. Notes for colonies A-S on Loggerhead Key are included, as well as colonies on other locations. Cerion data includes colony letter, number, number of whorls, altitude, diameter from lip, and diameter behind lip. Localities include but are not limited to Ragged Island, Sand Key, Indian Key, Duck Key, Boca Grande, Newfound Harbor, Tea Table Key, Loggerhead, and Man Key.
