Abstract

The notes document Bohumil Shimek's observations along Atlantic Coastal states, 1885. Notes include a list of orders, contacts and addresses, list of locations and methods of travel, contacts relating to plant specimens, schools and individuals to visit, lists of locations relating to their terrain (rocky shores, sandy shores, muddy shores), types of floors of bodies of water, specimens sent listed by location (including oysters, sand-crabs, lizard, sand fiddlers) with descriptions of specimen, its habitat, and its preparation; and a list of expenses. Locations include Norfolk bay and Fort Monroe, Virginia; Little Bay, [not state identified]; Baltimore, Maryland; Beaufort, North Carolina.
