Abstract

This field book contains a specimen list and journal documenting collections Evans made in Alaska from 10 June to 1 September 1897. Collector numbers 1-800 are included. Entries in the specimen list include name, location, and date information. The specimen list is followed by a list of "grasses from Metlakhtla sent by H. G. Menihoon" followed by the diary portion of these notes, which starts on page 110. The diary discusses specimens found, local uses, local names, and distribution and abundance. Localities include but are not limited to Wrangel, Metlakatla, Sitka, Juneau, Howkan, and Klawock. Correspondence is also included.
