Abstract

This journal contains notes on Bartsch's research on snails and birds in the Florida Keys from 3-18 June 1921. Journal entries seem to be split between notes on birds and notes on snails where the pages to the left contain bird notes and those to the right contain snail notes. Bird notes often include quantities and sex. Snail notes focus on Bartsch's work with cerion colonies he planted and include narrative notes, tables of data with measurements, and a diagram. Miscellaneous note are included at the back of the journal. Locations include but are not limited to Key West, Duck Key, Loggerhead Key, Bar Key, and Middle Key.
