Abstract

This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected in Martinique from 1880 to 1882. Collectors numbers 1-1512 are included, but only a few collector numbers were used. Also included is the US National Herbarium number. Specimens are listed by their taxonomic name and accompanied by notes on location, altitude, rarity or abundance, and brief physical description. Notes are in French. Localities include Fort de France, Les Trois-Îlets, Caravelle (Presqu'île de la Caravelle), Martinique (Parnasse, Pointe Fine, Grand Anse), and Le Prêcheur. Most specimens collected were from the genus cordia.
