Abstract

The 27 black-and-white photographs document Edmund Heller's collecting in Africa during the Rainey African Expedition, 1911-1912. Subject matter includes camps, expedition party in transit, local inhabitants among African huts, candid images of Africans working with the expedition, specimens (heads), hillside terrain and vegetation, and expedition activities. For negatives, see Folder 49. Locations include Loita Plains, British East Africa [Kenya].
