Abstract

This field book contains field notes of collections Stelfox made from 28 March 1929 to 27 April 1931 in Ireland. Most specimens collected were insects, primarily hymenoptera. Other types of specimens may have been collected. Stelfox lists the name of the specimen, date collected, sex, quantity, sometimes remarks on the weather, location, sometimes specific type of environment, sometimes remarks about which specimens he would like to collect, sometimes additional information. Some specimens were collected by R. A. Phillips. Localities include, but are not limited to Gold Mine Valley, Lugnaquilla, Arklow, Deer Park, Kilcoole, Kilcarry Bridge, and Canterbury. 'R.C.L.P' following a name signifies that specimen were seen and verified by D. R. C. L. Perkins, F.R.S. “List of ichneumons and braconids sent to S. A. Roman in Nov. 1929 (not. Jan 1930!)” (starting on page 100), numbers 75-117, is also included, as well as miscellaneous inserts containing field notes.
