Cullen of the Zoology Department of University of Oxford on the Terns, the Kittiwake, and the Shag, 1953-1957. Letters are usually headed with the date, but not always the year. Materials include typed and hand written. Correspondence compares observations and theories. These include the flight of Kittawakes in reference to a forthcoming paper by Moynihan; scavenging habits of gulls; descriptions of bird colonies and their environments on Farnes Islands; and observations of terns. Observation information describes habitat, behavior, appearance, songs, interactions, age, nests, breeding behavior, and feedings. Includes some illustrations of birds; tables of data of bird call with, type of bird, character of call, and situation; list of posture and call; and table on Arctic Terns. Locations include Inner Farne, United Kingdom.
