Abstract

The first of four folders includes descriptions of bird behaviors observed by M. Moynihan of Diglossa (Flower piercers), 1958-1974. Entries are headed with date, location, and type of bird. Includes correspondence. Entries include observations with time of day, weather, location, and vegetation. Bird descriptions include appearance, behavior, sex, songs; illustrations of birds augmenting text. Includes notations indicated by color and pattern as well as notes and comments set separately from observations. Locations include the vicinity of Sierra de Merida, Atacaso [Atacazo], Pichincha, Ecuador; Cerro Punta, Barro Colorado, Panama; Quisha, Peru; and Bogota, Colombia.
