Abstract

This is the third of 4 folders in descriptions of bird behaviors observed by M. Moynihan of Diglossa (Flower piercers), 1962-1972. Includes correspondence. Notes are headed with date, location, and type of animal observed. Pages are numbered. Entries are not chronological. Entries include descriptions of appearance, behavior, and songs sometimes in relation to time of day, altitude, and weather, also presence and abundance of types of birds in observed areas. Includes photography schedule with details about camera settings; details about altitudes; sketches of birds relating to text; and references to other notes. Assessments and comments are often listed at the end of entries. Locations include Volcán Puracé, West Cordillera, Colombia, Sierra de Merida, Western Andes, Boqueron de Jollo, Munchique, and Piedras Blancas.
