Abstract

This field book contains notes related to the Britton Project at Britton Manor in Point Barrow, Alaska. Notes relate to insects, especially beetles. Narrative notes from 4 June to 5 August 1953 are included as are surface count data sheets for roughly the same dates with the following information: date, station #, weather during count, fixed meter plot, first replicate, second replicate, third replicate, remarks, and total organisms. A 1958 memo from Hurd is included. "Britton’s microclimate manor” for 1951 and 1952 are also included. List of collembola collected in July and August 1953 are also included, as well as determinations for lot number 55-13424 and lot number 54-724, and “the muscidae of the Arctic and Subarctic regions of North America”.
