Abstract

This folder contains data sheets for bird banding stations from 1939-1941 (not in chronological order) recording the following: bird number, age, sex, date, time, weather, L, T, bait, reference. Localities include but are not limited to Berkley, Newport Bay, Costa Mesa, Monterey County, Santa Ana, Escondido, and Rialto. Also included are “record of birds killed in bird banding operations” (including species, age, date, cause, reported bi-b), descriptions of traps used, “English sparrow control” in Rialto, an envelope of bird bands, correspondence and memos regarding banding, and a newsletter entitled “bird Banding notes” issued by the Fish and Wildlife Service.
