Abstract

This field book contains notes on bird observations in California between 1938-1940. Also included are three letters regarding birds banded by Hurd from the US Department of Interior Fish and Wildlife Services. This notebook contains typed sheets with the following information: common name of bird, scientific names, record for a locality, followed by dates, quantity, and more specific localities. This notebook also includes sheets recording birds earliest and latest fall records/earliest and latest spring records, which record the following data: common, scientific, dates, weather, quantity, locality. Localities include but are not limited to Newport Upper Bay, Costa Mesa, San Bernardino County, Trabuco Canyon (Cleveland National Forest), and Rialto.
