Abstract

The notes document the work of Thomas Vaughan at Lake Champlain, August - September, 1921. Pages are numbered. Includes information about travel route; description of geological characteristics between a range of towns in New York; geological periods; descriptions of adjacent mountain ranges; and descriptions and sketches of fossils including their environments. Some entries are headed by topics: rock types, area vegetation and its abundance, common wild animals, industries, and special trips with dates and locations. Locations include Fort Ticonderoga, Vermont, Pokamoonshine Mountain, Albany, and Mettawee River.
