PrintThis volume contains notes taken by Harbison in Alabama, Florida, and possibly other southeastern states from 23 August to 9 September 1901. Collector numbers 4900-5050 are included. Harbison collects a wide variety of plants. One frequently collected genus includes crataegus, a member of the rose family. Locations include but are not limited to Bristol (FL), Tallahassee (FL), River Junction (FL), Ozark (AL), and Abbeville (AL). Some collector numbers are followed by an "equals" symbol (=) and another number (ex. 4947=4051/2 or 4970=4091/2=B2082). Harbison also includes name of specimen, and sometimes additional information such as measurements, abundance, when the specimen's flowers are in bloom, (notes on parts of the tree for crataegus), soil description and a few words about the specimen's surrounding area.
