Abstract

This volume contains notes taken by Harbison in Louisiana, Alabama, and possibly other southeastern states from 27 April to 9 May 1901. Collector numbers 4200-4350 are included. Harbison collects a wide variety of plants. One frequently collected genus includes crataegus, a member of the rose family. Locations include but are not limited to Meridian (MS), Cullman County (AL), Abbeville (AL), Sand Mountain (AL), and Marshall County (AL). Harbison also includes name of specimen, and sometimes additional information such as measurements, abundance, when the specimen's flowers are in bloom, (notes on parts of the tree for crataegus), soil description and a few words about the specimen's surrounding area.
