Abstract

Number 7 in a series of 1903 botanical field notes. This volume contains notes taken in West Virginia, Virginia, and possibly other southeastern states from 9 September to 6 October 1903. Collector numbers 9266-9341 are included. Boynton collects a wide variety of plants. One frequently collected genus is crataegus in the rose family. Locations include but are not limited to Saint Clair Bottom (VA), Seven Mile Ford (VA), Pulaski (VA), Buchanan (VA), and White Sulphur (WV). Boynton also includes descriptions of the specimen, descriptions of the soil and soil type, commonality and abundance, measurements, descriptions of localities, and additional information.
