Abstract

Number 5 in a series of 1903 botanical field notes. This volume contains notes taken in North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, and possibly other southeastern states from 11 August to 8 September 1903. Collector numbers 8900-9081 are included. Boynton collects a wide variety of plants. One frequently collected genus is Solidago in the aster family. Locations include but are not limited to Fayettesville (NC), Harriman (TN), Burnside (KY), Shepherdsville (KY), and Lebanon (KY). Boynton also includes descriptions of the specimen, descriptions of the soil and soil type, commonality and abundance, measurements, descriptions of localities, and additional information.
