The 3 field books document L. Walkinshaw's observations of birds, February 1980 - September 1981. The first notebook (yellow, spiral) covers February 8 - June 18, 1980. The dated entries are headed with locations, directions to observation sites, bird counts, environment, and vegetation. Some observations includes descriptions of nests with measurements, construction, eggs, and fledglings. Locations include Osceola County, Florida. The second notebook (red, spiral) covers January 12 - May 5, 1981. Contents include bird counts headed by date; observations of birds headed with type and date; sketches of nest locations; and some notes about weather. Entries start from both directions of the notebook. Locations are in Florida include the Everglades. The third notebook covers August 18 - September 12, 1981. Entries are headed by date and locations; they include a combination of type of bird, sex, band number, and nest observations as well as tables of nest and egg data on robins (including nest number, measurements, date, and record number). Locations include counties: Alger, Schoolcraft,Baraga, Luce, and Chippewa.
