The notebooks document L. Walkinshaw's observations of Kirtland's Warbler nesting and other Michigan nests, 1976. The first notebook includes sketches of nest locations; bird count for Betchler Lakes including type, quantity, and date; a table of bird counts with type, date, type, and county; data on traps for June of 1976; and measurements and weights of Kirtland's Warblers. Locations include Michigan counties Chippewa, Luce, Marquette, Houghton, Ontonagon, Mackinac, Baraga,and Crawford. The second notebook (blue) covers Kirtland's Warblers nesting sites, listing type, quantity of eggs, location; black-and-white photographs of nests; detailed notes on nest observations including date and descriptions of location (county, town, environment, vegetation), nest (construction, size), eggs (quantity, measurements, weight), fellow observers, and description of observation activity. Pages are numbered; includes sketches and diagrams of nest locations. Sites observed are in Michigan counties: Ingham, Jackson, and Crawford. Includes Haehnle Sanctuary.
