Abstract

The field book is the first of two, documenting L. Walkinshaw's observations of birds in Michigan, 1973-1974. Includes a variety of content and formats. Begins with a bird count including number, type, quantity, location, and date (April - October); lists of notes on cranes and nests with data, type, nest number, quantity of eggs, number hatched and number of fledglings; detailed observations of nests with location, type of bird, description of eggs, nest and environment, and observations from repeated visits; and tables of data from bird observations with dates. Includes sketched maps relating to nest locations. Locations in Michigan include counties of Jackson, Muskegon, Ingham, Washtenaw, Clinton, Oceana, Kalamazoo, Chippewa, and Luce.
