Abstract

These field notes include a portion of a notebook in which Wetmore recorded observations of birds in the mountains of Virginia, 1935-1936. Entries are concise, and ordered by date. Each entry includes a odometer reading, some location information (usually town or mountain range), and a list of observed birds. Some entries include elevation, or information like Ferry Schedule for Cape Charles to Norfolk. There is a gap between September 1935 and the next series of entries, March to July of 1936. Sites noted include: Summersville, West Virginia; Charmco, West Virginia; Hawksbill Mountain, Apple Orchard Mountain, and Skyland, Virginia.
