Abstract

The field notes document L. Walkinshaw's observations of birds in Michigan, 1990. Includes bird counts listing number, type, county, locality, quantity, and date; descriptions of bird nests contain type of bird, date and observed condition in repeated visits (incubating etc), and location (county, town, latitude and longitude). Descriptions of Sandhill Crane nests are more detailed including descriptions of eggs (appearance, measurements, weight), behavior of parents, and nest characteristics (construction and environment). Includes hand drawn maps of nest locations, sometimes in relation to other nests. Locations in Michigan include are not limited to the counties of Ingham, Chippewa, Crawford, Eaton, Schoolcraft, Muskegan, Oceana, Shiawassee, Calhoun, and Jackson.
