Abstract

The field notes document Walkinshaw's ornithological field work in Michigan, 1982. Begins with bird counts with type of bird, quantity, location, and date. This is followed with observations of crane nests, which include nest number, and descriptions of the nest, the parents (environment, vegetation, method of observers getting to location), eggs (quantity, color, measurements), and ends with outcome detailing followup observations. There are also overviews of nest observations with hand drawn maps to observation sites. Locations in Michigan include the counties of Ingham, Jackson, Eaton, Muskegon, Crawford, and the towns of Laketon and Delhi.
