Abstract

Gabrielson's more or less daily journal from 1 January 1949 to 31 December 1950 containing lists of birds observed and collected, notes of professional activities such as meetings, conferences, and field investigations. Notes on mammals are also included. Gabrielson's bird lists also include notes on abundance or commonality. Many of the bird lists seem to be taken near his home. Toward the beginning of the diary are are “Birds to look for in Texas”, “Birds not yet collected in “Checkout Nov. 1-1948”(1-667), and “Birds. Arizona” (1-101). Catalogue starts 6520-6534; bird numbers (collector numbers?) are 6183-6192. Localities encompass a wide geographic range as Gabrielson traveled often. Localities include but are not limited to Bandelier National Monument (NM), Little Missouri (maybe Arkansas), and Santa Fe (NM).
