Abstract

The field notes document the observations of cranes by L. Walkinshaw in Nigeria, 1965. Entries are dated and include descriptions of birds and nests. Entries include location, description of birds (type, band-numbers, sex, behaviors), their nests (descriptions of surrounding environment and vegetation, measurements, weight, quantity and appearance of eggs), weather, and bird songs. Nests are numbered. Includes sketches of birds' behavior. Includes lists of individuals and their jobs and table of specimens collected (with number, date, location, sex, measurements by part of body) in various countries. Locations include vicinity of Vom, Nigeria; Bharatpur and Gujarat, India; Tokyo and Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan.
