Abstract

This is 2 of 2 field books documenting the field work of L. Walkinshaw in Africa, November 24, 1961 -January 11, 1962. The notebook is preprinted with the dates. Entries begin on the correct date, thus the first entries are toward the end of the volume. Entries include weather, time of sunrise and sunset, location, descriptions of bird nests and their contents (quantity of eggs, type of bird, condition, measurements), notes about individuals with whom traveled, birds observed, people visited, daily activities, and notes about photographs taken. Includes additional list of notes on birds of Natal and tables of data on observed birds and nests. Locations include the vicinity of Johannesburg, South Africa; Lochinvar National Park and Kafue National Park, Zambia; Uganda; and Jūbā, Sudan.
