Abstract

The 3 field books document the field work of L. Walkinshaw in Alaska, 1946. The first field book covers May 27 - June 8, 1946. Includes tables of bird observations headed with location, interspersed with observation notes with time of day. Data includes number, species, quantity, and date seen. Locations include Fairbanks, McGrath, Kuskokwim River, Bethel,and Johnson River. Includes an itinerary with dates and town. The second field book covers observations on a variety of birds and their nests during June 6 - 22, 1946. Entries are headed with date, type of bird, sometimes location, quantity of eggs, length and weight measurements. Locations include the vicinity of Johnson River, Chevak, and Mountain Village. Third field book covers June 5 - 21, 1946. Content and format are the same as the second field book. Locations include the vicinity of Johnson River and Chevak.
