Abstract

Paleontological and geological field notes taken by Gilbert Van Ingen (under the direction of H. S. Williams) on the Oriskany Formation (Lower Devonian) in Ulster County and Green County, New York, and Somerset County, Maine between 23 April and 26 June 1889. Location numbers are as follows: 1053-5058 (NY); 10-59-1062 (Maine). Van Ingen includes occasional sketches, describes stratigraphy and occasionally provides altitudes and coordinates for localities. Some localities include Esopus Creek (NY), Marbletown (NY), and Moosehead Lake (ME).
