Abstract

Number 8 in a series of 1902 botanical field notes. This volume contains notes taken in North Carolina, Tennessee, and perhaps other Southeastern states from 23 September to 17 October 1902. Collector numbers 7152-7273 are included. Boynton collects a wide variety of plants. One frequently collected genus includes solidago, in the aster family. Locations include but are not limited to Fayetteville (NC) and Chattanooga (TN). Boynton also includes descriptions of the specimen, descriptions of the soil and soil type, how common specimens are, and additional information.
