Abstract

Black-and-white photographs document Isaac Ginsburg's field work in locations in Panama, particularly connected with the fishing industry, 1935. For negatives, see Folder 37 or refer to number on print. Captions are in the reverse side of images, sometimes noting that location was site of specimen collection. The subject matter includes views of islands and shoreline, facilities at Barro Colorado Laboratory, wetlands, locals and colleagues using cayucos in local waters, shark specimens, examples of local vegetation, and views of Kingston (Jamaica). Locations in Panama include the vicinity of Pedro Gonzalez Island, Pearl Islands [Archipiélago de las Perlas], Madden Lake [Lago Alajuela], Chilibrillo cave, and Rio Chiriquí Viejo.
