Abstract

Alexander Wetmore records observations and bird specimens collected in the vicinity of Lawrence, Kansas, 1907 - 1908. Specimen numbers include 3140 - 3634. Entries are chronological and pages are numbered. For each place he collects he records specimen details (collection, location, appearance, size, and stomach contents). Additionally for a few entries he discusses the place where he collected that day, including landscape, weather conditions, path traveled, and birds' behaviors and songs. Most of the notebook is comprised of specimen details. Notes on the left-hand side of entries highlight birds, specimens, or indicate if specimens were sent to someone. Specimens were also collected with C.D. Bunker and C.B. Linton.
