Abstract

Number 3 in a series of 1901 botanical field notes. This volume contains notes taken in South Carolina, Georgia, and perhaps other Southeastern states. This field book notes specimen 4251-4461 collected from 3-31 May 1901. Boynton collected a wide variety of plants. Frequently noted genera include Panicum, a genus of grass, and crataegus, a genus in the rose family. Locations include but are not limited to Varnell, Calhoun, and Augusta, Georgia, and Aiken, Blackville, Allendale, and Charleston, South Carolina. Boynton also includes sketches, measurements, descriptions of the specimen, descriptions of the soil and soil type, how common the species is, and additional information.
