Abstract

Number 2 in a series of 1901 botanical field notes. This volume contains notes taken in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and perhaps other Southeastern states. This field book notes specimen 4128-4250 collected between 10 April and 2 May 1901. Boynton collected a variety of plants, although this book contains mostly notes on crataegus, a genus in the rose family. Locations include but are not limited to Warm Springs, Stone Mountain, and Rome, Georgia, Gadsden, Lookout Mountain in Gadsden, and Collinsville, Alabama, and Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Boynton also includes sketches, measurements, descriptions of the specimen, descriptions of the soil and soil type, how common the species is, and additional information
