Abstract

The motion picture documents Waldo Schmitt's work during the Smithsonian-Bredin Belgian Congo Expedition, 1955. The 53 minute film exists as reel 16 and 17, a film transfer with wet gate; 3/4" U-matic videotape in July 6, 1995, and a digital file. It depicts Waldo Schmitt and colleagues in the field, lava fields, sights (monuments), mountain vistas, Ferries of Congo, Egyptian ruins, agricultural fields, insect specimens, and plant and seed specimens.
