Abstract

The notebook of Robert A. Bartlett was written during the Greenland Expedition, 1940 [Bartlett Arctic Expeditions (1928-1947)]. Entries are organized by specimen number. There is a introductory description of some destinations, terrain and vegetation observed. Entries include type (common name, sometimes quite general like marine life), location, latitude and longitude, date, collector, and sometimes environment information like elevation or method of collection, especially in relation to dredging. Specimens collected include plants, marine life, plankton, birds, flowers, and seals. Locations include the vicinity of Turnavik, Labrador; Melville Bay [Melville Bugt], Robertson bay, Humbolt Glacier, and Smith Sound.
